India captain Shubman Gill has been discharged from the hospital in which he was receiving treatment for a neck injury sustained during the opening Test against South Africa in Kolkata.
Dr Vece Paes, a member of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games bronze-winning Indian men's hockey team and father of legendary tennis player Leander Paes, died in Kolkata on Thursday morning.
The hospital said: "Report of routine blood tests are satisfactory; Echocardiography shows preserved left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 56 percent."
Also, it said that Ganguly, who is set to be discharged on Wednesday, had an "uneventful day".
Ganguly will be ready for the next course of procedures or medical intervention after about 2-3 weeks
BCCI president and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly continues to remain 'stable' after being tested COVID-19 positive three days ago.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will undergo stenting on Thursday in presence of Dr Devi Shetty, Kolkata's Woodlands Hospital said.
Ganguly, who endorses Fortune Rice Bran Cooking Oil, felt discomfort on January 2 while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium at around 11 am. Following this, he underwent an angioplasty at the Woodlands Hospital.
Earlier this year, Ganguly was hospitalised in January twice after complaining of chest discomfort. Ganguly had suffered a heart attack while exercising at his Kolkata home and underwent a right coronary angioplasty.
Ganguly will be discharged on Wednesday and thereafter he will be monitored at home on a daily basis
The 49-year-old had received "Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy" on Monday night.
